Assessment and Success

Assessment and Your Child’s Progress

We are committed to giving your child the best opportunities that we can. We do this most effectively when working with you. EYFS profile, Year 1 Phonics Check, Year 4 Multiplication Check and Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 Standard Assessment Tests (SATs) are undertaken throughout your child’s time at the academies. Parents are given full information about the SATs as the children progress through the school.

During the Autumn and Spring Terms, we hold parents’ evenings to discuss pupil’s progress, and at the end of the Summer Term, full school reports will be sent home, with the opportunity to discuss this with the teacher if you feel this is necessary.

Reports

Parents will receive yearly reports which will show the progress of their child in every subject.

The report will show the codes:

  • WTS – Working towards the Expected Standard
  • EXS – At the Expected Standard
  • GDS – Working at Greater Depth within the Standard

There will also be a teacher comment on their child’s progress and a target to support the child’s improvement.

The Senior Leadership Team (SLT) will oversee the assessment process and writing of reports.

Parents are asked to complete the slip at the bottom of the report to give their feedback and allow the school to seek their views on their child’s achievements and progress.

Marking and Feedback
  • Adult written feedback and marking is carried out in GREEN/BLUE.
  • Pupils will self/peer edit and respond to the marking in PURPLE.
