Year 5 were part of an amazing play-writing themed experience this week, Untold Tales……this is one of many workshops taking place throughout this term. Pupils have the chance to have their work turned into an on-stage play come Summer.
Reception classes have been participating in Bike Ability sessions this week. The sessions were offered to all children in Reception, who enjoyed either a morning or an afternoon session – learning all about how to ride a bike, bike safety and even having a little go on the balance bikes themselves! All children have been gifted with a certificate of completion and a special sticker!
Whole academy drop-down day happened on Thursday this week, DT and Textiles Day! This day was student led, with the children choosing and then designing their textile creation. The day was well received, a final assembly at the end of the day showcasing what children had made in Years 1 to 6 – an amazing pool of talent.
Messages have gone out to all pupils this week – we still have spaces available on both residential trips. Horstead for Years 3 & 4, and Derbyshire for Years 5 & 6. More information is available from the academy office, if your child would like to go on either residential please collect a letter and make a payment as soon as possible.
Next week, children in Reception, Year 4 and Year 6 will be participating in Road Safety lessons – all pupils will be involved in a lesson, presentation and demonstration of the VERY important road safety skills (age appropriate). Year 1 – you would have received a text from the academy, these sessions will be re-arranged at a later date.
