5 Great things at Worlledge this Week!

22nd March 2019

So what’s been happening at Worlledge this week as we count down to the Easter holidays, 10 academy days to go!

Our top “what’s been happening” moment this week has got to be how proud we are to celebrate the achievements of an individual student. This student in Year 4 has just been nationally recognised by our academy chain, Ormiston Academies Trust, as their Inspirational Learner of the Year. The pupil travelled with his family to London, where they enjoyed a spectacular three course meal, the award ceremony itself which was followed by an overnight stay in a top London hotel!

Following on from this we would like to take this time to celebrate the achievements of more pupils from Edward Worlledge Ormiston Academy…….this week alone 20 children in Years 3 and 4 have been mentioned in Mr Thompson’s Golden Book for outstanding support of others and perseverance during their Healthy Heart run.

OAT Coin shop is proving to be a massive success! This is our way of encouraging children to come to the academy every day and on time……after a full weeks’ worth of attendance, children get “paid” in the form of an OAT coin. These can then be saved up and spent in our OAT coin shop, 8 pupils this week have purchased a “Mr Thompson’s or Miss Warner’s PA for the day” pass, this means they can book in with either member of staff to be their Personal Assistant for the Day.

Just a quick update on our Matilda performance – all the main characters and chorus pupils have now been cast, all of these should have received a personalised letter this week. Rehearsals start on Monday 25th March, and will be on every Monday and Wednesday from 3:15pm till 4:15pm. Please ensure your child returns their reply slip as soon as possible.

A big thank you to all those who have made purchases from our online Scholastic Book Club, the deadline for orders has now passed and is closed. All orders have raised an additional 25p for the academy funds which enables us to purchase additional books for your children. We expect that the delivery on all items will be between 2 – 3 weeks, so please be patient.
