5 Good Things at Worlledge this Week

17th May 2019

Countdown clock for May Half Term – 1 week to go! Children break up on Friday 24th May and return to the academy on Monday 3rd June.

Year 6 SATs week – well done to all our Year 6’s for their hard work and commitment this week!

Year 5 & 6 Whitwell Residential Trip – leaving the academy on Monday 3rd June and returning on Friday 7th June. You must have filled in your medical and activities consent forms as well as any additional forms on the day (sign for medications, luggage etc). Please ensure that you have paid the full balance of the trip, without full payment your child will not be able to attend.

Year 1 enjoyed a Fairy Tale workshop last week at Elizabethan House, after a quick change of plans due to the Great British Weather they were on their way in the academy minibuses. They experienced the life of Cinderella – cooking, washing, and cleaning for her evil stepsisters, meeting the Fairy God-Mother and finally the spectacular visit to the ball!

Well done to all those children who were in the Golden Book this week, whether it is for written work, sporting excellence or personal achievement. As of next week Mr Thompson, Miss Warner and Mrs Harvey have a surprise in store when you go to them for Golden Book, not only will you get a mention in Friday’s assembly and Lego cards but also an extra little something……

OAT coin shop is a continual success, with two of our pupils (one from Year 3 and one from Year 6) working a shift in the front office. Opening post, counting letters, delivering fruit – the jobs were endless and yet done with superb efficiency and speed! All children receive 1 OAT coin for each full week they attend the academy, new items and workshops have just been released so encourage your child to get saving! Many thanks for your support, our attendance is on the increase – we are hoping to reach our academy target for the year, this year it is 96%.
