STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths) is an important part of learning.

Our aim is to ensure that all of our pupils have the skills they need to enable them to gain employment in the STEM sector in East Anglia and beyond.

We aim to achieve this by removing gender stereotypes and immersing our pupils in STEM through activities that enhance and enrich the curriculum, so that EWOA pupils develop a passion for STEM and demonstrate that they have ‘skills for life’. Employability skills (Skills for Life) have been identified as being a priority for employers.

We develop our pupils’ resilience, communication, team-working, self-motivation and problem-solving skills, while also ensuring that they learn to keep themselves and others safe.

At the moment EWOA pupils will access STEM activities through competitions and projects. STEM will become an integral part of the curriculum as we move forward with Ormiston Academies Trust to drive forward a more integrated curriculum
